This world is full of so many amazing things. Here are some highlights from my travels so far…
I have visited 5 continents, 35 Countries, 49 US states, and 3 Canadian provinces.
Viewing the Northern Lights
I was so blessed to see the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights, which is what drew me to Iceland in the first place. It is awe-inspiring to see lights moving around in the night sky. You can read more about my trip to Iceland here.
Visiting Iceland’s Glacial Lagoon
Jokulsarlon, a glacial river lagoon in Iceland, is unbelievably beautiful. It was farther than most tourists travel, but so worth the drive. You can take a boat ride on the lake to get close to the calving glaciers, which make a thunderous noise as they fall off the large glacier. The icebergs then travel down a stream, where they enter the ocean. Seeing the icebergs traveling through the waves was a highlight of my trip.
Snowmobiling on a Glacier in Iceland
I was so happy we decided to snowmobile on Longjokull glacier in Iceland. We traveled through areas of complete whiteouts emerging through to have a breathtaking view of Iceland’s ocean and coastline. Take a look at this part of our trip.
Watching the Monarch Butterfly Migration in Santa Barbara
Stumbling upon the Bioluminescent Tides in Santa Barbara
I went to a drum circle on the main beach in Santa Barbara, CA. We walked along the beach out of view but were still able to hear the drums, and to our delight, the water was bioluminescent. Our footprints turned bright blue, as did the waves as they crested- magical.
Speaking of Bioluminescent Tides, Kayaking on a Lake Full of Them in Puerto Rico was Incredible!

SCUBA Diving
One of my most peaceful places on earth is 30-plus feet under warm water with a SCUBA tank strapped to my back. One of my favorite memories of this is any of Cozumel, Mexico’s wall dives. The water is clear, the marine life abundant, and looking over a wall into the deep abyss is a feeling not to be missed.
Swimming with these Amazing creatures in Akumal, Mexico
Akumal, a small town just south of Playa del Carmen, has a beach where I brought my own snorkeling equipment, jumped in the water and swam among numerous sea turtles. In Cancun, you can hook up with some hotels, like The Royal Caribbean, that are part of conservation efforts, to see sea turtle hatchlings put back into the sea after hatching in a protected area by the light of a full moon. They are amazingly peaceful and beautiful animals. I also love diving in cenotes (freshwater swimming holes) in this area.
