This weekend I am in Springfield to play in and captain my team in the USTA 40+ 3.0 Woman’s Sectionals!
We stayed at Springfield Marriott in Massachusetts. Although there was not much around, the hotel was great for the price. The place is a little run down and the parking lot has extremely low ceilings, but the decor was lovely, the citywide rooms were quiet. All the staff I dealt with were helpful and accommodating. They even had a indoor pool and jacuzzi, which I love! They restaurant downstairs has a nice, but pricey restaurant for breakfast with a continental or full buffet. There is also a Dunkin’ Donuts (a to-go coffee shop that New Englanders are crazy about) and CVS connected.
We also grabbed a drink and played cards in Champions Sports Bar in the hotel. Although it was very empty, they stocked a full bar. The wait staff was very attentive and the food was good bar food. We had a fun time playing a new card game 99.
Some ideas of things you could do around Springfield are The Basketball Hall of Fame, The Eastern States Exposition in the Fall or check out www.valleyvisitor.com. We spent our free day in on of my favorite Massachusetts towns, Northampton.
