I love the holidays and am ready to celebrate them as soon as Thanksgiving is over. For me the weekend of Thanksgiving is for time with my family who I am so thankful to have. This year my family was hosted on Black Friday to experience Lake Compounce’s Christmas Lights program. It was exactly the way I wanted to spend my time and we had a blast!
What is Lake Compounce Holiday Lights?
Did you know that Lake Compounce is North America’s longest continuously operating amusement park? For Holiday Lights the park is decorated in its holiday finest. You can imagine from the name that there are a lot of lights. There is also Connecticut’s tallest Christmas tree at 100 feet. The whole park isn’t open, but most of the family rides are. We had the most fun on the Twister and the Bumper Cars. We also loved the train ride around the lake which was totally decorated with lights. There are also many food trucks open offering something for everyone. A great chance to get your last s’mores of the year! Since we don’t have Christmas markets in New England, this was the closest we get and worth a visit.
We are excited to come back in the summer and ride the huge wooden roller coaster, Boulder Dash, that goes through the mountains! My kids also love the numerous twisty coasters such as the Phobia Phear Coaster and the Zoomerang.
If you are looking for a great stocking stuffer for the whole family you can buy a season pass or make some memories together by visiting Holiday Lights which runs through the end of December. Get tickets to the Christmas Lights or a Season Pass here.
