By far my favorite books I read in 2016 were The Century Trilogy by Ken Follet.
What The Century Trilogy is about:
The trilogy is three 1,000 page books that you won’t want to end. They are historical fiction books that follow families in the US, Russia, Germany, France and England. The first book, Fall of Giants, takes place during World War I. Winter of the World, book two, takes us through World War II and the last book, Edge of Eternity, enters the cold war and race relations in the US.
Why I loved it:
It was such an interesting perspective on world history. It explores how the wars were looked at and experienced from many different vantage points. It also illustrates how events in one part of the world effect others. The books are historically accurate and will help your remember the lessons you were taught in school while being thoroughly entertained. He is a great writer that brings you into his universe and makes you not want to leave. I also count his older book, Pillars of the Earth, among my favorite books.
