It was the perfect late summer day for kayaking in southern Rhode Island. Hopefully this inspires you to get out and enjoy the nature in this beautiful, little state.
With two days left until fall, it was the ideal day for kayaking in Rhode Island. The air temperature was a sunny 85*F and the water was 78*F. Although Rhode Island is the smallest state, because of its shape with Narragansett Bay running in the middle of it, it has almost 400 miles of tidal coastline. This leads to it being a great place to kayak.
The inlets and many islands allow for many places to paddle with calm water great for low-key kayaking . This allows for time and proximity to look at all the beautiful scenery and wildlife that Rhode Island has to offer.
After all that work kayaking (I also played tennis this morning), we absolutely needed lunch and decided to head to one of my favorite restaurants in Rhode Island, Matunuck Oyster Bar.
Another beautiful Rhode Island day, well spent! What is your favorite way to spend a summer day?
